READ ABOUT LUNA'S MEETING WITH COLIN AT SEVILLE FILM FEST 2009

IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT ; - ) X

After a week of reading the rumours that Colin was to attend Seville Festival on Friday 6?? There was very little information anywhere right up to the day before. On Friday, Me along with two friends went to the “Casino de exposicion” where the festival is being held, around 5 p.m. No one was there because it was very early, the gala didn’t start until 9pm but we wanted to get a good place. During the long wait, we were talking about Colin and his movies, his life, how gorgeous he is, we didn’t get bored even for a second. Around 7, cars started to appear but it couldn’t be Colin, it was still too early, but a car passed by our side and we saw a guy with a hat that looked liked Colin’s beloved hat, we started going crazy, “it’s him it’s Colin!” but the car went away. Today I discovered that it was Colin because he was there early for the “Triage” press conference.

We were convince it was Colin so I decided to take out my big Irish flag bought months earlier in my beloved Dublin, I think it was a great idea to take it with me because a local TV Channel made interviewed us, journalists took pictures of us and all because of the flag. By the way, there were many ignorant journalists there, I can prove it, one of them approached us and said: “We all were wondering where that flag is from. Could you tell us?” my friends and I gasped a bit and said, “Ireland” (with pride) and he said “ahh we thought it was from France, so are you Erasmus students from Ireland?” we replied “No we’re from here, this flag is because of Colin Farrell” and the guy gave us a look as he didn’t know what an Irish flag has to do with Colin Farrell !

At 8:30 things started to move, people started to come and big actors too, first Sir Christopher Lee. How adorable he is. He waved at us from the car and then again when he got off, he didn’t come closer to us because the poor man is older and he was walking with a cane and with difficulty. We were a bit far behind the fence and at this point there were like 30 people, not so many for a Cinema Festival but like I said people didn’t know anything for the lack of information.

Then Ben Kingsley came and he didn’t approach us either because he was late for the gala, but he told us pointing at his watch and waving. We forgave him. hehe.

Then the “big” Seville-born star Paz Vega came, she almost didn’t look at the public, she didn’t wave much and of course she didn’t come to sign anything or take a picture with us, we Seville-born too like her, were very disappointed at her for that.

But anyway she wasn’t the reason we were there. THE moment came, the last car, twenty minutes late, the lovely Colin Farrell finally came. It was funny because when the car was coming everybody was in silence and when we saw him inside the car, everybody started screaming like crazy, COLIN COLIN, WE LOVE YOU, COME HERE!!!! Even us of course. So after a long flight from L.A. a morning of promotion and a tired face, he was the only one that went to greet the people, so kind of him. He started at the right, we were at the left, and as my turn was coming, I couldn’t stop myself from shaking, suddenly he was in front of me, I gave him my Irish flag and he said with a big smile “ the Irish flag” we could see that home is always in his heart. He wrote “sláinte, Colin” that means, “cheers” in Irish, I knew that because that is one of the few words I know in Irish, I think the fact that he wrote it in Irish is more meaningful coming from him, the Irish lad. Then I asked him to take a picture with me, looked at me directly in the eyes and said “of course”, I almost felt to the floor, then I hugged him to take the picture and I hadn’t take my arm off him and he said to me “cheers darling” with that amazing voice of his.
Then he signed a bit more, there weren’t that many people, but he pleased us all. He went to the small red carpet at the door and met with Mr. Lee and Ms. Vega at the photocall, a couple of pictures and interviews, (I think because we couldn’t see anything from where we were) and he went inside the theatre.

People ask me if it was worth it to wait for hours standing behind the fences for only a couple of minutes with him, of course it was! This was once in a life time opportunity, it was Colin Farrell, a great actor and one of my favorites, he was so nice, so elegant, so charming, he didn’t disappoint anybody. My friends and I were thrilled as as were the other people there. We talked with many of them and they were all exited and happy and calling their friends to tell them how amazing Colin Farrell was.

Thank you to Mary, at http://www.colinfarrellfansite.com/ for the editing of the original story.

  2. Your're welcome! He really is a lovely charming lad :)By the way, today I read an article about last night, it mention us :) the girls with the Irish flag, they say that thanks to that we caught Colin's attention cause you know how proud he is to be Irish :) The funny thing is that they said we were Irish erasmus students even if we told a journalist that we were from Seville, anyway I felt flattered because I love Ireland, especially the irish accent hehe :) I might go there and get the Irish nationality as the article says hehe I'm just kidding, but for sure I'd love to go to Ireland and spend a couple of years there :)

  8. Well I'd love to see it, luna. Also can you scan the paper articles you mentioned to us?
Do you have any source of the Q&A after the triage screening,or interviews, I mean, did any paper published anything on triage? I don't care if it is written in spanish, we can translate it with google help. I thank you so much for sharing.

  9. Sure! I'll scan it, but yes it is in spanish. There are some articles online about "Triage" but they are also in spanish, anyway I'll look for them and post them here later.
By the way, next friday I'm going to see "Triage" at the cinema :)

  12. Oh dear I've just had a bit of a slap on the wrist from Mary over at the CF Fansite regarding my posting of Luna's story.

    1#
I got the google alert for your post of Luna's story. I just wanted to say that you really should have put a credit back to my site. She sent the story to me..and it's obvious that you copied from my site, since she asked me to fix some spelling and grammar.. and you posted my corrected version, not her original.

I don't mind so much that you re-posted, but to do so with no credit to original source is bad manners.

I realize that Luna gave you permission to post.. but since you used the version from my site, I still think some credit would have been nice.

I often have people ask if they can post something on your site and I always say "fine, as long as you give CFF credit". It's just polite.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I was aware that you had permission from Luna.

    Mary

My apologies Mary, I didn't realise as Luna had okay'd me to post the story, but in hindsight perhaps you are right I should have credited the CF Fansite too. Will try and be better mannered in the future! x

    Gemini said...

I do hope everyone here on the CFWB will understand I really did't mean to steal anyone's thunder on this, and I certainly didn't want to get Luna, or myself in any hot water... and we're not Luna, it's just been a misunderstanding, and Mary as she says, understands this... : - )

But for the record: Thank you to the Colin Farrell Fansite, Mary, but most importantly Luna, for your wonderful story xxx

  13. Hi Gemini, I just talk to Mary about this, and I want to apologyse too because I didn't gave you the original. Mary corrected some mistakes I had, as you know English is not my first language and I didn't want to published a big article with mistakes.
I think every thing is clear now :)

Thank you very much Anna for the video!! I haven't seen it yet because youtube say they are down for maintenance :(

    I'll keep trying

  15. Hi Luna, yes I agree everything is sorted and out in the open now. None of it is your fault honey, it's mine... I should have put a bit more thought into it! Mary and her mods do an excellent job : - )

    PS.
    Does this mean you're famous now? ; - )

  19. It's absolutely amazing that CFF would expect you to credit their site when Luna publicly gave you permission to post it. Seriously, what are they on? It's Luna's story not Mary's! Wow, some people's ego's are just unbeleivable! I hate that site! It's run by a by psycho's.

  20. Thank you for your comment, and in a way I agree: The laws of blogging, and the laws of 'official fansites' although, not... 'official fansites' does sometimes confuse me also?!

    I am not a web-site, I am blogger... I believe there is a difference?!

I don't like to ask anybody where they got their photos, or info from, I don't care... as long as they have the decency to not inflict my computer with a virus… I trust them!

Therefore, if it's out there in web-land, and the ability to copy, & paste, is unhindered, then sorry, surely it's free to mass produce. Otherwise what would be the point in copy and paste, and indeed any web-stie or blog?!

Without word of mouth, or word of virtual word of mouth... what exactly is the point of the web again? : - ) xxx

  21. 4:39 and 8:26 so agree. One minute she's slamming someone for speculating and the very next breath is her speculating.

Luna, you are TOO cute. I'm so happy for you and glad he was nice. Had it been me, I'm afraid someone would have had to use a crow bar to remove me from a hug. Thank you for sharing the story. It made my day to hear he really is a sweetheart.

  22. Gemini, I love your blog and only mean this to be helpful, but I don't think you're right in the last comment. I do think you were fine to copy Luna's story because it's hers and she said you could. But as far as copying and pasting in general, I don't know. I think there are probably rules. I'm going to do some research. I think you're safer to provide links to other stories as you usually do. Anyway, I'm going to look and see what I can find on this.xx

Thank you for your concern honey, I understand and realise I may have come across sounding a little overly ferocious on my last comment. (Sorry, guess I'd just had one of those days!)

Of course I will continue to give credit to sources, and links, I just meant stuff in general that is all over the web in a copious manner i.e. everyone has the pics, or story.

Hope this puts your mind at rest : - ) x
